Cambodia Casinos
There is an appealing background to the Cambodia casinos that reside just over the dividing line from nearby Thailand, in which gambling den gambling is illegal. Eight gambling dens are situated in a generally small area in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling halls is in a prime spot, a 3 to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The phenomenal capital gained from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to more than 12.5 million, and there are a number of controls constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; however, funding sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 1700, and though visas are for all intents and purposes needed to cross, there are ways around this, as is true of many borders.
The original Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored ship gambling hall, highlights one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and 60 tables. The Naga gambling den is open all hours with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of vingt-et-un, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The initial gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are one hundred and fifty slots and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machines and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 one armed bandits and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and 96 gaming tables, including 87 baccarat banque (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and sixty six of the normal table games, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, also in a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around vacation and hotel building that features numerous amenities in addition to the casino, which houses ten thousand square feet of 130 slots and eighty eight gaming tables.
